AUTUMN IN ACADIA
Even though it's a relatively small national park, Acadia has a diverse array of landscapes including over two dozen mountains and an equal number of lakes and ponds, fascinating wetlands, forty miles of spectacular shoreline, and an abundance of fiery autumn foliage. The photographic opportunities are almost endless. In my all too brief time here one colorful autumn several years ago, I managed to photograph a few classic locations on Mount Desert Island, to explore a couple of the many wetland areas, do a pleasant drive photographing the Schoodic Peninsula, and to make a quick stop at the magical town of Stonington on my way back to North Carolina. I do hope there is more Maine in my future.
